"Transforming our community with the power of God."

(Update June 2007: After Manuel resigned as Alliance Coordinator 12/06, no one was willing to take over leadership, so activities have been suspended for this year.)

There are approximately 30 Evangelical congregations among Chiconautla's population of 500,000.  Most congregations average under 50 members.  The Evangelical Alliance of Chiconautla was formed several years ago with the goal of bringing unity to the Christian community.

Regular activities include:

bulletA pastors' prayer gathering once a month
bulletA breakfast held at Bet-lehem for pastors, leaders and their wives every two months
bulletCombined prayer services (for the whole Christian community) every 2 or 3 months

Annual activities include:

bulletA 4-day Leadership Seminar taught and hosted by Bet-lehem Chiconautla (Dec. 13-16)
bulletAn excursion for pastors and their wives
bulletA massive, open-air event called Fiesta Familiar, including a morning children's program and evening family worship service (cancelled for 2005 due to internal conflicts)

Manuel has had the privilege of directing the Alliance for the past few years.  The shared vision of participating pastors is to seek to have a spiritual impact on the comunity through prayer, fellowship and unity.  The goal is to have 80% of the local pastors participating in Alliance activities.

A secondary goal is to provide training for pastors and lay-leaders, since most area pastors have very little formal education.
